When Lennon Courtney created his very first ad (in crayon) as part of a third grade Gifted and Talented program, sales of the imaginary breakfast cereal skyrocketed one gazillion percent. Needless to say, he was hooked for life.
Third grade – plus a degree from The University of Texas – set Lennon up for success at DDB Needham Worldwide, McGarrah Jessee, The Richards Group, PYRO, and finally his own company, Aircooled Advertising.
Over the past 29 years, Lennon has created a lot of (non-crayon) campaigns for (non-imaginary) clients like AT&T, American Airlines, Hyundai, The Home Depot, Spectrum, On The Border, and Dodge. He also worked on multiple seasons of AMC's Mad Men. An advertising guy writing advertising for a show about advertising guys? That’s so meta!
Lennon’s work has been honored by Communication Arts, the New York Art Directors Club, the London International Advertising Awards, and Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. But he gets more joy out of building brands than polishing trophies.
Lennon resides in Dallas, Texas. He has two kids and a classic, air-cooled Volkswagen. Okay, let's just call it three kids.
